It is one of the greatest, most useful helps. It kindles and nourishes in us a burning desire to get there, to enjoy this prepared happiness and to share it with others. Heaven is infinitely beautiful. GOD has endowed it with all His power, with all His fatherly love. He wants to satisfy man forever. All great, wonderful and splendid things that we can dream up on earth will be there – far beyond our imagination.

Thinking of Heaven helps us to do our worldly, human tasks and duties with more care, to provide our neighbour with the necessary help and care. It instils into us a lively disgust for sin (godlessness, disobedience, hostility, unchastity, abortion, adultery, lie, theft and so on.)

Thinking of Heaven helps to endure pain and infirmities, gives strength to do this also for others, to give up life here on earth if GOD so demands. Why should all the pain, trouble and obstacles we have to overcome bother us when in the end Heaven awaits us? We will see GOD, possess GOD and nothing will be able to snatch us away from Him any more. We will be put into an infinite ecstasy.
